DOHA: The Ninth International Hi-Tec Qatar 2005 Exhibition and Conference being organised by the World Trade Centre Qatar under the patronage of H E Sheikh Mohammed bin Ahmed bin Jassim Al Thani, Minister of Economy and Commerce will be held at the Qatar International Exhibition Centre from April 24-27, 2005.
This year's edition of the exhibition will be more attractive meaningful for all those who attend, P A M Sherif, acting general manager of the centre said yesterday. Attractions include free daily raffle draws for the visitors, free training by Microsoft and promotions by various participating companies. Valuable prizes including laptops, computers and mobile phones etc are on offer for the raffle draws.
For the first time we are organising Hi-Tec shopper in the sideline of the exhibition where visitors can buy computer accessories and other electronic items at very special prices, said Omar Abu Salma, sales and marketing manager.

Major International firms in the field of Computer, Communication and Information Technology are expected to participate in the mega event. Another highlight of this years exhibition will be the active participation of various IT Departments of the Ministries and Administrative Departments of the Government of Qatar.
The highlight of the event will be an IT conference where experts from all over the World would share their expertise and experience in the fields. Hi-Tec Qatar 2005 will witness the conglomeration of Experts, Scientists, Inventors, Researches, Manufactures and suppliers of buyers and sellers from the local, regional and international arenas in a form of mutual exchange of technologies and ideas.
The Hi-Tec Qatar 2005 has attracted participation of leading firms in the field of information technology as the previous editions of the exhibition and conference were successful in generating interest in the community and the developments that are being materialized by Qatar in various fields especially in information technology and telecommunication.
The participation of Microsoft, Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Agriculture, Q Tel, e-Government, Qatar Electricity and Water Company, Ministry of Education and higher education and Qatar General postal corporation come as a result of the successful of conduct previous exhibitions and their desire to create awareness among the public about the information technology services and to showcase the latest trends in the field.
