DOHA: Saleh Al Hamad Al Mana Co, the sole distributors in Qatar for Nissan and Renault vehicles, yesterday signed up as the Gold Sponsor for the forthcoming Milipol Qatar 2004 international exhibition.
Under the sponsorship agreement, Saleh Al Hamad Al Mana Co will provide the Milipol Qatar with Nissan Pathfinder vehicles and cash contribution worth a total of QR 500,000 and will participate in the exhibition with a stand measuring 204sq metres at the Qatar International Exhibition Centre. The agreement was inked by Hisham Saleh Al Mana, chairman, Saleh Al Hamad Al Mana Co and Colonel Sheikh Nasser bin Fahd Al Thani, chairman, Milipol Qatar Organising Committee. Sheikh Saud bin Mohammad Al Thani, member of the organising committee also attended the event.
Speaking to the media, Sheikh Saud said that this year several companies from various countries, which had never participated in the Milipol expo, were expected to sign up to display their products and services during the exhibition, which will be held here from October 4 to 6.
Firms from the US, Germany, Spain and Russia have already confirmed their participation. This year, the Milipol Qatar expo is expected to receive a record participation and the entire area at the QIEC is likely to be occupied by exhibitors. Some companies will display heavy equipment on the QIEC grounds, he added.
Meanwhile, Colonel Nasser thanked Saleh Al Hamad Al Mana Co for their contribution, stating: "The company was very keen to contribute in all previous Milipol exhibitions held in held in Qatar so far. Saleh Al Hamad Al Man Co recognises the importance of these exhibitions to Qatar and all the GCC states in the Middle East. Milipol Qatar 2004 will attract all international companies specialising in security, safety and civil defence equipment," he added.
Hisham Saleh said: "Our contribution in this vital and important exhibition organised by the Ministry of Interior comes as part of our basic duties towards our country and a sign of our commitment to sharing the efforts aimed at making successful all the national and international events which are being held in our country under the wise leadership of the Emir, H H Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, and the Heir Apparent, H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani."
Sheikh Saud said a Platinum Sponsor for the Milipol Qatar 2004 exhibition will be announced shortly. The expo also includes a conference on security related issues.
