Land Rover sales for 2005 were the highest in the company's history. On a global level the brand witnessed a 14 per cent increase.
The sales growth has been driven by the company's strong product line-up, which now includes a premium portfolio of new models that include five distinct products:
The Range Rover for 2006, The Range Rover Sport, all-new LR3, Freelander and the Defender.
The Range Rover continues to be the company's flagship model offering peerless off-road capability and on-road refinement. The Range Rover Sport is an all-new Sports Tourer that is positioned between our flagship - The Range Rover and the LR3 which is a luxury family SUV. Land Rover's LR3 vehicle can be best defined as the new generation of Land Rover that re-defines limits and breaks new ground in the luxury 4x4 sector.
Mohammed Maktari, Regional Manager of Land Rover said, "2005 was an exciting year for the brand as it saw the introduction of our 21st century strategy to ensure that all our products are premium, luxurious, technologically advanced and suitable for all driving conditions. These three new premium models clearly highlighted this new strategy and have contributed significantly to the growth of the brand.
"2006 is looking equally bright and we look forward to continuing this positive trend with increasing supply of Range Rover Supercharged Vogue and the release of Range Rover Sport Normally Aspirated and LR3 V6. The continuing supply of these exciting products will keep our brand at the forefront of the luxury 4x4 market," Added Mohammed Maktari.
Mohammed Kandeel, Vice- President, Al Fardan Automobiles Land Rover, said the success of Al Fardan has resulted from the favourable economic situation in Qatar.
