DOHA: Al Ahli Hospital, a 250-bed private multi-speciality hospital, has started its operations in Qatar.
Patients who visited the hospital on the opening day were given a warm reception by the hospital management and were presented with special gifts. The first patient to be treated at the hospital was 3-year old Bethanie, who was accompanied by her parents, Peter and Mandy Daley. They were received by the CEO, Lynette Lewis. Dr Attiya Bashir, clinical director of paediatrics had the honour of examining the first patient of Al Ahli Hospital.
On the opening day, patients had the opportunity to see the various facilities available at the hospital.
A patient relationship management team has been appointed to take care of patients and ensure that all their needs are met.
"Our key emphasis will be on patient-centered care. Prior to the hospital opening we had conducted inhouse rehearsals for all our staff. Scenes depicting the profiles of various patient cases, from anxious patients to difficult visitors, were enacted and our staff were trained to handle those situations. Any person walking into our hospital -- be it a patient or a visitor -- will be definitely touched by the special warmth of our customer service," said Lynette Lewis, CEO.
At present, the outpatient clinics of the dental, paediatrics and internal medicine are receiving patients. Apart from these the pathology, radiology and physiotherapy departments as well as the pharmacy have also started functioning.
Rest of the clinics will be open in the coming months and the inpatient services will hopefully start by coming February.
Al Ahli Hospital is managed by Aus Health International, an Australian company specialising in health management and planning. Aus Health International is a subsidiary of NSW Health, the largest health care provider in Australia.
"We bring a wealth of hospital management expertise to Al Ahli Hospital. Aus Health International has immense experience in handling various hospital management projects around the world.
