Abu Dhabi, Oct 28th, 2009 (WAM): HRH Princess Matilda, wife of HRH Crown Prince Philippe of Belgium, paid a visit today to the Khalifa Fund for Development of Enterprises.
The Princess and her accompanying delegation were received by Hussein Jassim Al Nowais, Chairman of the Fund and other senior officials. The Princess was given a presentation on the Fund's objectives, programmes and achievements in the promotion of the culture of entrepreneurship among the UAE citizens. The presentation also highlighted the numerous training programmes organised by the Fund to empower the citizens in entrepreneurship and noted that in a total of 76 training programmes conducted by the Fund since its inception in June 2007, women accounted for about 40 percent of the total trainees.Moza Obaid, first director at the Department of Development and training of entrepreneurs in the Khalifa Fund gave the delegation a brief explanation on the three types of traditional funding programs adopted by the Fund.
One of these programmes is called the "Rollback" programme, which is aimed at the rehabilitation of the inmates of punitive and reformative centres encouraging them to enter business and re-integrate into society after serving their sentences. The "Sunshine" programme is directed to those who have recovered from addiction after being treated at the National Rehabilitation Centre, whereby the programme entitled "Hope" aims to help organise workshops for people with special needs among citizens in cooperation with the Zayed Higher Organization for Humanitarian Care, explained Moza Obeid.HRH Princess Matilda was impressed with the vision and the programmes of the Khalifa Fund and hailed the achievements of the project since its founding two years ago.
The princess praised the pivotal role played by the Fund in promoting development in its various dimensions and instilling the spirit of entrepreneurship among various sectors of the UAE society.
