WASSIT/ Aswat al-Iraq: The third electrical generating unit was opened today with the presence of Premier Nouri al-Maliki and his deputy for energy affairs Hussein al-Shahristani and electricity minister Abdul Kareem Aftan.

He pointed out that this power station is the biggest in Iraq, expressing his hopes that more generation stations will be added to the service.

This third unit is stationed in Zubaidiya power station, which was planned before three years.

Shahristani stated that this station will produce 2500 M/W, pointing that more stations shall be inaugurated in Ninewa and Anbar.

He confirmed that all power stations shall be ready by the next year.
