Facilities engineering group Petrofac is to build a gas treatment plant on Syria's Jihar field under a $454 million contract from state-controlled Hayan Petroleum.
The plant will be built near the town of Palmyra, on the Hayan Block, and will handle flows from the Jihar, Al Mahr and Jazal fields, Petrofac said in a statement.
The company said it would also build a liquid petroleum gas recovery, storage and loading system, as well as gas gathering infrastructure at the site.
Hayan is a joint venture of Syrian Petroleum Company and Croatian player INA.
