DUBAI (Zawya Dow Jones)--Palm Water, a Dubai-based, sewage specialist company, Sunday said that it has received a $400 million contract from Nakheel for a sewage treatment plant, as well as sewage and irrigation networks for its developments in Dubai.

Palm Water, an Istithmar-owned company, has been given the contracts on a design, build, own and operate basis, a company statement said.

The new sewage treatment plant will serve golf developments including Jumeirah Golf Estates and has a capacity to treat about 220,000 cubic meters of sewage each day.

As part of the award, Palm Water will be granted a 30-year concession to provide both sewage and irrigation services on behalf of Nakheel.

The then new plant will also serve properties including Jumeirah Lake Towers, Dubai Multi Commodities Centre, Jumeirah Islands, Jumeirah Park and Jumeirah Village, the statement said.
