He indicated that the customer service counter has started receiving service applications from citizens and residents, adding that there is a great demand for the fixed line service in new regions in view of its importance for the inhabitants of these rural areas which enjoy the service for the first time. The wireless fixed phone service has several advantages for users in villages in the Wilayats of Rustaq, Al Awabi and Nakhal. it could reach new villages in the wadis and mountains of such wilayats where connection was difficult because of their rough topography.

This service is one of the most advanced because it works on the same mobile phone technology. It is easy to install and connect and provide all fixed line, Internet, fax and value added services. All these services are offered at the normal fixed line tariff. Omantel does not imposes any additional connection and installation charges.
