MUSCAT -- Oman's rapidly expanding power sector is attracting a number of leading manufacturers of power-related products. The latest to make an appearance on the local market is Megger, the industry-leading brand from the UK. Megger, a name synonymous with high quality instruments for testing and measurement applications in the electrical industry, was introduced into the Oman market at a launch ceremony organised by Abu Aoun Technical Services in association with the brand's regional suppliers Haris Al Afaq.
"We see great potential for Megger in the Oman market," said Pradeep Ravi of Haris Al Afaq, master distributors for Megger in the GCC (except Saudi Arabia and Kuwait). "The ongoing construction boom, as well as the exciting developments in the freehold real estate market, gives us confidence that the brand will perform very well here."
Robert Sequeira, Manager of Abu Aoun Technical Services, which represents the brand in the Sultanate, said the Megger range of products would be targeted at electrical contractors, the oil and gas sector, and other electrical testing applications. "We are introducing products for low voltage applications in Oman, ranging from building wiring test tools to multimeters and high voltage diagnostics," he said.
