MUSCAT -- Women Expo 2006, ongoing until December 15 at Oman International Exhibition Centre, showcases not only beauty products, jewellery and the latest fashion but also a range of financial services and investment opportunities for women. BankMuscat, major sponsor of the event, is presenting its Zeinah Woman's Card at the exhibition. It is the first credit card in Oman that created exclusively for women, and offers women the rewards they want with discounts at leading jewellery, perfume and fashion outlets as well as beauty centres and health clubs. The Zeinah Woman's Card is accepted at millions of establishments worldwide, and gives cardholders the benefit of interest-free credit for up to 52 days.
In addition, it comes with free travel insurance and the card can be used to withdraw cash instantly at ATMs across the globe. BankMuscat donates 0.5 per cent of the amount spent using the card to the National Association for Cancer Awareness (NACA), which also has a stall at the exhibition. The Oman Establishment for Press, Publication and Advertising (OEPPA), publishers of the Observer and its sister Arabic daily Oman, is a media sponsor of the event.
Another exhibitor at Women Expo 2006 is the Saudi British Property Investments Company, which is offering a revolutionary, new way of investing called Simply Invest. This ensures that female investors directly interact with someone who understands them better and helps them meet their financial objectives.
"The participation of financial companies in Women Expo 2006 is in line with our objectives to provide women with everything they need during the six-day exhibition," said C J Paul, General Manager of Omanexpo. Paul pointed out that Women Expo 2006 features over 65 local and international companies dealing in various types of products and services for women. In addition to cosmetics, perfumes and women's apparel, the exhibition also highlights educational opportunities and health services for women as well as products for proper child care and development. Except on Friday, when the exhibition will be closed in the morning, the timings are from 10 am to 1 pm and from 5 pm to 10 pm.
Women Expo 2006 is for ladies and families only. All women visitors have a chance to win exciting raffle prizes, including air tickets for a family of four, non-stick cookware, a sewing machine, and dinner sets. Various types of entertainment and educational activities are also being held on all days. Today, the scheduled activities include vegetable carving demonstrations, tile painting, beauty product demonstrations, wedding pageant, musical performances, and garden concepts demonstrations.
