Twenty-five South African businesspersons representing various commercial sectors along with officials from Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry visited the sultanate's leading integrated tourism complex, The Wave, Muscat which is now home to over 2,000 residents from 38 nationalities.
According to a press release, the delegation, who accompanied President Jacob Zuma during his official state visit last week, had the opportunity to understand the magnitude the project and its catalytic effect on driving tourism as a diversified source of income. The visit also entailed a tour of the Al Marsa Retail Village and the soon-to-be opened PGA links style golf course designed by the legendary Greg Norman.
The mixed-use development, which offers a multitude of cultural and recreational offerings, serves as a prime example of how the sultanate is positioning itself as a lifestyle destination with diverse and lucrative tourism investment opportunities.
