MUSTAFA Sultan Security & Communication Systems Co. LLC (MS SECOM), leader in digital technology in Oman, has launched 'WorldSpace', a Satellite Radio and Multimedia Broadcast Service delivering a mix of music, market specific multilingual news, current affairs, talk shows, financial information, weather reports and more, directly from satellite to portable and PC receivers.
WorldSpace provides listeners with world-class programme using its two satellites -- AfriStar and AsiaStar -- to broadcast more than 60 digital quality audio stations from around the world, in digital quality sound. "In music, WorldSpace's motto is 'My music at my time, Any where'.
We offer choice of listening to preferred music genres for 24 hours. For example jazz lovers can listen to RIFF which is a dedicated channel for America's indigenous jazz music," said M. Sebastian, vice-president and general manager, WorldSpace Middle East.
Other categories of music on air include African, European classical, Carnatic, Hindustani, contemporary, country, dance, hits, international, modern, oldies, pop, rock, urban and soul among others. Due to WorldSpace even the expatriates in Oman would be able to tune into their favourite radio station at home.
The service currently broadcasts in a number of languages including Arabic, English, French, German, Swahili, Hindi, Malayalam and Tamil.
