Muscat - The Information Systems Audit & Control Association (Isaca), Muscat, Oman Chapter has won the K. Wayne Snipes 2004 Award for "The Best Medium Chapter in Asia".
The award, the first to be won by a Chapter in the Gulf region, is a rare honour that Isaca Muscat, Oman Chapter brings to Oman.
The award, instituted by Isaca Global Headquarters, is in recognition of a Chapter's contribution to promoting awareness among users of information systems about the benefits of IT audit and security.
A felicitation ceremony is being held in this connection where Sayyid Abdulla bin Hamad bin Saif Al Busaidy, president, State Audit Institution, will deliver a keynote address on the emerging role of IT Audit.
According to a press release, the felicitation ceremony will be held tomorrow at Holiday Inn.
There will also be a presentation on 'IT Assurance and Audit from a regional and global perspective' by Rama K. Subramaniam, CEO, Valiant Networks, Dubai.
Isaca was formed in 1976 as an education foundation to undertake large-scale research for the expansion of knowledge in IT governance and control. Since 1978, the Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) programme, sponsored by Isaca has been the globally accepted standard of achievement among information systems (IS) audit, control and security professionals. CISA certification signifies commitment to serving an organisation and the IS audit, control and security industry with distinction. Today, Isaca is recognised as a global leader in IT governance, control and assurance.
Isaca has more than 35,000 members in more than 160 chapters established in 65 countries covering a variety of professional IT-related positions. The Muscat Chapter was established in the year 2000 under the sponsorship of the College of Banking and Financial Studies (CBFS), which is affiliated to the Central Bank of Oman.
