IBRI (ONA) - A traditional farming system development project was launched at Amla village here yesterday. The project, costing RO 230,000 was implemented on an area of 86 Fedans (Fedan is a unit of measurement that is equal to 4,200 sq metres). The ceremony, held by the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, was presided over by Dr Saud bin Nasser al Riyami, Vice-Chancellor of Sultan Qaboos University. It was attended by Khalfan bin Saleh al Naabi, Ministry Under-Secretary, Dr Mohammed Saqr al Asam, Assistant Under-Secretary for Water and Irrigation at the UAE Ministry of Water and Environment, under-secretaries, shaikhs, dignitaries and farmers.
