MUSCAT -- Oman Gas Company announced successful initial commencement of supply of Qatari gas to the Sultanate via UAE's Dolphin Energy Limited. Yousuf Mohammed al Ojaili, CEO of OGC, said the project will be the largest of its kind the Buraimi area. He expressed his appreciation for the support of the Ministries of Oil and Gas, Finance and National Economy, as well as Oman Oil Company and Dolphin Energy. The project consists of three gas turbine driven compression trains to transport the gas into OGC's pipeline network to Sohar.

The EPC was implemented by Gulf Petrochemical Services and was commissioned and is operated by Omani specialists hence giving Omani companies and Omani workforce the opportunity to develop their capabilities in non conventional gas transportation projects. The gas will supplement gas produced locally by PDO, Occidental and PTTEP which OGC delivers to power, desalination and industrial complexes.
