National Iranian Drilling Company conducted 126,746 meters of offshore and onshore operations in the first four months of the current Iranian year (started March 21).

Mehran Makvandi, NIDC's deputy head, said 113,357 meters were onshore and 13,389 offshore, Shana reported.

"Forty-five wells were drilled during the period, of which 34 belong to the National Iranian South Oil Company, three to Iranian Central Oilfields Company, three to Iranian Offshore Oil Company, one to Petroleum Engineering and Development Company and two to National Iranian Oil Company's (NIOC) Exploration Directorate," he said.

Makvandi said 21 wells were developed, 20 repaired, three appraised and one explored.

"NIDC managed to finish drilling operations of six wells 138 days ahead of schedule, which is highly economical," he said.

He also said 74 rigs belonging to the company are operating across the country.

The company is implementing drilling projects in phases 1 and 14 of the South Pars Gas Field in Bushehr province and South and North Azadegan, Azar and Yaran oilfields.

Makvandi stressed that the company prioritizes development of joint fields.

NIDC's drilling rigs are operating in oilfields, including Gachsaran, Yaran, Karanj & Parsi, Zilaei, Azadegan, Azar, Bibi Hakimeh, Rag Sefid, Tabnak, Shanol, Khangiran, Paidar, Koupal and Dalan located in Khuzestan, Ilam, Bushehr, Fars, Khorasan Razavi and Kohgilouyeh-Boyerahmad provinces.
