Abu Dhabi, June 5, 2008 (WAM) -- A US delegation from the National Basketball Association (NBA) has visited the Al-Jazira Sports and Cultural Club here in Abu Dhabi to have first hand information about the club's facilities and services.
The delegation were taken round the club's basketball facility and briefed by Mr. Carl Bots, the club's director of operations and consultant. Al Jazira club has one of the biggest and state-of-the-art basketball facilities in the Gulf region. Officials of the two sides agreed on the need for bilateral cooperation between the club and the NBA, with the latter's officials saying that the NBA was looking for ideal places outside the US for training camps for NBA member clubs. They added that they have been overwhelmed by the fantastic facility of Al-Jazira club and would like to work together with the Al-Jazira club officials to see how best the two sides can mutually benefit from the facility.
