Govt urged to present genuine programs with timetable

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 3

MP-elect Yusuf Al-Zalzala said they are waiting for the new period in Kuwait's history -- a period of achievements, indicating that the people of Kuwait have seen a glimmer of hope in the new parliamentarians who won the confidence of the voters in the recently-concluded election.

Speaking in a gathering he organized for well-wishers at his diwaniya in Dasma, Al-Zalzala disclosed they are also waiting for HH the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak to form a highly-qualified government to match the new legislators and to realize the ambitions of the people.

Al-Zalzala wished the next government will be a real institution for the people who will work as one team, while emphasizing the importance of distancing from those who instigated conflicts between the executive and legislative authorities in the past.

Meanwhile, MP Faisal Al-Dowaisan from the First Constituency affirmed that the blessing and love of the Prophet Mohammad's (PBUH) family members are the secrets behind his success in the parliamentary elections.

He congratulated the Prime Minister for the trust which HH the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah has, once again, bestowed upon him to form the new government; stressing at the same time the necessity of selecting new faces from the Al-Sabah Family. He threatened to grill the old ministers in case they re-join the Cabinet.

Speaking on the sidelines of the reception he organized Friday at the Holiday Inn Hotel, Al-Dowaisan thanked the voters in his constituency for trusting him as their representative in the National Assembly. He asked the Prime Minister to change the ideology of the government and his ministers; in addition to selecting young members, particularly from the ruling family, to give them a chance to prove their leadership capacities and to form the second line of leadership in the future. He hopes the new government will present a genuine program with a timetable; otherwise, the lawmakers will hold anyone who fails to perform his tasks responsible for their failure.

In the same context, MPs Khalil Abdullah Abul and Hamdan Al-Hamdan received citizens, including representatives of social and non-governmental authorities, who visited their diwaniyas to congratulate them on their victory in the parliamentary elections.

Moreover, MP Sultan Al-Shimmari has accused Attorney Riyadh Al-Sanae of offending him and his tribe -- the Shimmari tribe.
