RABAT -- Moroccon Minister of Health Yasmina Baddou declared here on Tuesday, that Morrocco was leading Arab countries in limiting spread of swine flu, according to World Health Organization (WHO).
During her inaugration of a medical symposium dedicated to evaluate swine flue disease, Baddou said that WHO praised the role of Morocco in combating this disease, and protecting its citizens from it.
She added, that her country declared some swine flu cases, yet very limited, and they have been acting positively, in comparision to other Arab countries.
In addition, Baddou during the symposium, that held many experts, informed that her country (such as France) has enough vaccines against the A(H1N1) virus.
For Autumn and Winter seasons, Baddou calls to Activate preventive measures of this disease, in order to protect the country from the panic, not like other countries.
Minister Baddou said that her country is updated with current developments worldwide regarding this disease, and the national strategic measures taken for the begining of the schools.
The Health Ministry here announced on Monday 11 new cases of the swine flu, bringing the total number of cases to 124 thus far.
New cases have been discovered in the past five days in the cities of Rabat, Medhief, and Casablanca, said a ministry statement, which noted that 114 cases have been successfully treated, and only ten cases are under observation in addition of course to the eleven new cases that were announced today.
The very first swine flu case in the country was discovered on June 12 of this year. The patient was an 18 year old Moroccan female student from the city of Fas who had arrived in Morocco from a trip to the Canadian city of Montreal.
