KUALA LUMPUR (Dow Jones)--Malaysia's MMC Corp. (2194.KU) said Wednesday that a harbor construction tender for Saudi Arabia's Jazan Economic City has been aborted following an impending change to the location of the Jazan Oil Refinery.

MMC, which is jointly managing the project, said in an exchange filing that the changes to the refinery location have been requested by Saudi Aramco.

"The port location will likewise be changed accordingly. Details are being studied to finalize the changes arising there from," MMC said in the filing.

The company had earlier said in May that the tender will be deferred, and the developers were in discussions with Saudi Aramco about plans for the refinery.

MMC and Saudi Binladin Group are working on the project planned for the southern part of Saudi Arabia's Red Sea coast.
