ABU DHABI, 2 Nov, 04 (WAM) Dubai Municipality has recently launchedits e-Clinic system that would allow customers to obtain medical fitnesscertificates and health cards online.
This was stated by AbdulMajid AbdulRahman, Assistant Director of theInformation Technology Department, who noted that this would cut downthe number of visits made by customers to the Municipality Clinic andultimately eliminate queues in front of the counters, according to the+Khaleej Times.+ He said the new system would accomplish a great deal of automation inthe clinic's routine procedures thereby simplifying and speeding up theprocedures, reducing mistakes and raising efficiency of the entire systemand staff.
'The most important thing is that the system would allow full integrationwith the Dubai Naturalisation and Residency Department (DNRD). This wouldenable the Municipality Clinic to send health fitness certificates ofresidence visa applicants online to the DNRD thereby doing away with theneed for these applicants to queue up in front of the counters to collectthe certificates,' he said.
Yusif Shams, Head of the Systems Development Unit, which supervised implementationof the project, said the new application would replace the old e-Servicesof the Clinic System.
He said the new E-Clinic application has many features such as Clinice-services, Clinic Internal Procedure and Interface with Lab Equipment.
The Clinic e-services feature allows customers to submit online requestsregarding Medical Certificates or Occupational Health Cards. Through thisfeature customers can also apply or submit requests for an appointment.
The feature called Clinic Internal Procedures is used for all internalprocesses such as issuing of Medical Certificates, and Occupational HealthCards. It is also used for treatment or visa renewal of the Municipalityemployees and also for serving the new employees.
Total Service Counter function is also applied through this feature whereone user serves the applicant regarding verification of the application,information, cash collection, photo capturing and completing the registrationof the applicant.
Interface with Lab equipment is the feature where all results of bloodsamples or other samples are transferred to the application.
He said the system would provide several easy options for making paymentsfor the services of the clinic to individuals and companies. They canopt for paying in cash, cheques, credit cards, bank guarantees, and advancepayments. The e-payment facility would be available by the end of thisyear, he noted.
