TUNIS, Oct 30th, 2010: Tunisian First Lady Leila Ben Ali has named the main hall of the Basma Centre for Integration of the Disabled after H.H Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union (GWU), and Supreme President of the Family Development Foundation (FDF).

The center is part of the Basma" Association for the Promotion of the Employment of the Disabled, chaired by Mrs. Leila Ben Ali.

A ceremony was held to mark the occasion in presence of the Tunisian First Lady, H.H Sheikha Fatima, Egyptian First Lady Mrs. Suzan Mubarak, Bahraini First Lady Sheikha Sabeeka Bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Palestinian First Lady Amina Abbas, Sudanese First Lady Widad Babaker and heads of the delegations to the 3rd conference of the Arab Women Organization (AWO) which wraps up today in the Tunisian capital city.

Sheikha Fatima and the Arab first ladies toured the centre and viewed a presentation on its sections, services and capabilities.

Sheikha Fatima expressed satisfaction at the high-quality services provided by the center to psychologically and vocationally qualify the disabled and integrate them with the community adding that it represents a huge humanitarian achievement.

In the center's book of VIP visitors, she said the Basma (Arabic for smile) centre lives up to name as it aims to make those individuals smile and to put their potentials at the service of their community.
