Mai Dubai, a leading bottled water company in the UAE that is fully owned by Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa), earned this year the three-star Superior Taste Award, the highest rating given by Brussels-based International Taste Institute, a world leader in the evaluation and certification of consumer food & beverages by professional chefs and sommeliers.

The award was granted in recognition of the outstanding taste and quality of Mai Dubais Zero Sodium Alkaline Water product, said a statement.

More than 200 professional taste experts gave the newly launched innovative bottled water a rating of 92 per cent during the sensory evaluation stage. The jury members followed a systematic approach during the rigorous blind judging process. where products are blind-tasted and scored based on their appearance, taste, aroma, and texture, it said.

Apart from their excellent score for Mai Dubais product, the judges also made high commendations to the bottled water as it offers the UAE population a healthy drinking water, especially those who are leading an active lifestyle. In formulating the product, Mai Dubai has removed the waters sodium and raised its alkaline level to help increase a persons metabolism and hydrate the body faster, it said.
