MUSCAT -- Oman Air has announced new offer on flights from Muscat to Khasab, the Governorate of Musandam's regional centre. From January 7, the national carrier began offering return flights with one month validity, at the special rate of RO 31. The reduced fare is being offered as part of Oman Air's commitment to meeting the needs of local communities, and it will only be available for citizens.

An official from Oman Air's Commercial Unit, said: "We are delighted that through this offer, we are enabling more people to visit Musandam and to experience its unique history, culture and hospitality. Of course, visitors will also have the opportunity to make the most of our services."

"We are pleased that this promotion allows us to continue our promotion of year-round domestic tourism, which helps in boosting economic activity for local communities, and reduce the seasonal variations which arise through international tourism." And in a move designed to reduce the number of unused bookings, minimise last-minute ticket changes and increase passenger choice, Oman Air has announced that it will be charging an RO 10 fee for flight changes and refunds.

He added: "Our aim is to encourage people to use their booked flights. Unused bookings block seats and reduce the range of choices available to other passengers. This has the potential to impact on choice and convenience for other customers and the new RO 10 fee will help us to protect the interests of all of our passengers."
