Christina Attiyah, 19, is an architecture student at the American University of Beirut. She is from Jounieh.Q: How would you describe your style?

C: I’d say it’s typical student wear. Mainly I wear jeans and a top, I’m pretty casual. But I do like dressing up when I go out and putting on a dress.

Q: Where is your outfit from today?

C: My jeans are from Bershka, my top is from Zara and my sandals are old … I think I bought them in a little shop in Jounieh.

Q: Where are your favorite places to shop in Lebanon?

C: Definitely here, at Beirut Souks.

Q: Where do you get your style inspiration from?

C: Just from people walking around Beirut. I look at what people are wearing and outfits they have put together and think, maybe I could try that.

Q: How would you describe “Lebanese style”?

C: Well there are two extremes, there are Muslims who often dress quite conservatively, and then you have students who dress casual. Sarah Niaucel, 18, is a high-school student in Belgium and Nadine Farhat, also 18, is a business student in Beirut.

Q: How would you describe your style?S: Very casual and laid back. But we do also like dressing up for a night out.

Q: Where is your outfit from today?S: My dress is from Urban Outfitters (not available in Lebanon, but the store does ship here) and my shoes are from French Connection.

N: My top is French Connection, my shorts are from Zara and my shoes are Ben Simon.

Q: Where are your favorite places to shop in Lebanon?N: I really love French Connection and Zara.

Q: Where do you get your style inspiration from?N: I look at fashion magazines, Cosmo and Glamour, and copy ideas from there.

Q: How would you describe “Lebanese style”?S: There are definitely two distinct styles. There is the casual, slightly preppy, style. More like us. And then there is the extremely kitsch, kind of cheesy, look. Which we don’t go for …
