A leading international educational institution from India has announced it will start distance learning centres at the Knowledge Village here from the next academic year.

Symbiosis is in talks with IBFI, a company based in Knowledge Village and dedicated to research in education technology.

Dr. Vidya Yeravdekar, joint director of Symbiosis, said they are also discussing plans to establish a Symbiosis University campus in Dubai.

"But that would certainly take some time as we need to receive permission from local and Indian authorities. If everything goes well some of the key courses which will be of interest to the students in Dubai will be Bachelor of Business Administratin, Bachelor of Computer Application, Ba-chelor of Arts, Bachelor of Commerce, Masters in Bu-siness Administration and Masters in Communication.

"We will also conduct our Distance Learning programmes which currently have 80,000 students in India and abroad. Courses offered by the distance learning centre include Post Graduate Diploma Courses in Human Resources Development, Business Administration and International Trade and Finance. The courses offered in distance learning can be completed by anyone from anywhere in the world."
