AMMAN - Robin Sharma, a consultant on leadership issues, will hold a workshop in Amman on Saturday called,“Lead without Title: High Performance Leadership in Turbulent Times”.
Speaking at a press conference yesterday, the consultant said he believes that all people can be leaders, regardless of their role, by being engaged with and enthusiastic about their work.
During the workshop, the consultant said he would explain how all people can become engaged and assume leadership positions at work, at home and in the community.
In a DVD handed out to press yesterday, Sharma says his strategy for success includes being grateful for one's blessings and stresses the need for businesspeople to practise their skills just as athletes do, noting that practice, no matter how tiring, is a small price to pay for success.
Sharma began his professional life as a lawyer, but said he decided to shift into training because his work was not making him happy and because he felt he could be more innovative and creative as a leadership consultant.
Although Saturday’s workshop targets the business community, the consultant expressed hope that on future trips to Jordan he will be able to interact with young people, as this group represents more than two-thirds of the population.
Organised by Sigma Investments and Irshad Centre for Psychological Services and Educational Consultations, the workshop seeks to develop participants’ leadership skills and talents in order to positively influence future generations.
