Le Royal Meridien Beach Resort and Spa has been named the Middle East's leading spa resort by the world's travel industry.

The hotel has also been voted Dubai's leading spa resort at the World Travel Awards ceremony.

"The hotel sector in Dubai is highly competitive, with both local and international brands continually setting new benchmarks of excellence. To come out top among such highly-regarded names is something that makes us very proud," said Pam Wilby, general manager.

"The challenge is now to find new ways to attract our customers, and continually strive to raise our own performance levels to stay ahead of the competition."

News of the prestigious title comes as an official stamp of recognition to Wilby and her team, as they prepare for the summer opening of the resort's sister property, Grosvenor House West Marina Beach Dubai by Le Meridien.

Grosvenor House is tipped to be the exclusive address in the upcoming Dubai Marina, which has been earmarked by developers as the lifestyle hub of Dubai.
