Dubai, 3rd Sept.2009 (WAM) -- The total value of land transactions in Dubai last week peaked at Dhs1.02bn, of which sales exceeded Dhs607.68m.

The total value of mortgages during the period was Dhs415.41m, according to the Land Department.

A total of 34 sale transactions were registered with the Department by the end of the week, the most valuable of which was a plot in Jabal Ali that was sold for Dhs29.882694m.

The Emirates Hills Third area was the most active in terms of the week's sales, with some 7 transactions. Jumairah Village Second followed it with 6 sales.

During the period, Jabal Ali recorded the highest turnover by value, at Dhs29.88m, followed by the Al Mararr area, Dhs18.3m, and Emirates Hills Third area, Dhs16.2m.

The biggest area sold was the 200300 sq ft in the Al Eyas area, which went for Dhs10.02m. A 24822.07 sq ft plot in the Emirates Hills Third Area was acquired for Dhs2.86m, while 22259 sq ft of Emirates Hills Third was disposed of for Dhs2.67m.

During the period under review 62 mortgages worth Dhs163.7m were registered, the most significant of which as the Dhs28m for an area at Jabal Ali Industrial. There was another for Dhs23.6m on an area in ranches Apartments and villas in freehold areas witnessed the registration of 268 sales transaction out of which 250 were for apartments for a total of Dhs265.49m and 18 for villas at a total sum of Dhs30.94m.

A total of 58 mortgages for Dhs82.08m were registered on villas and apartments
