KUWAIT, Feb 10 (KUNA) -- Al-Qadsiya Sporting Club managed to beat his traditional rival Al-Arabi 3-1 in the sixth round of the Kuwaiti Soccer League in the match held at al-Arabi's Sabah Al-Salem stadium Saturday evening.
Al-Qadsiya came from a 0-1 shortfall to record a sensational win over Al-Arabi in a dramatic match, during which Al-Arabi started scoring in the sixth minute of the first half through midfielder Mohammad Charragh due to a pass from Syrian Feras Al-Khatib.
The goal negatively affected Al-Qadsiya's performance, where they retaliated with an offence launched in the 20th minute by professional Kita's kick, diverged gracefully by Al-Arabi's goalie Yousif Al-Thwaini, as Al-Qadsiya began a neck-to-neck competition with Al-Arabi throughout the first half.
Qadsiya's Fawzi Beshir from Oman launched a powerful kick at the 32nd minute of the game; an offence countered by forward Khalid Khalaf's attack in the 35th, which was obstructed by a hairs' breadth by Al-Qadsyia's defender Fayez Bandar.
Beshir scored the equalizer with a spectacular header midway in the second half through midfielder Saleh Al-Sheikh, leveling the score in the 50th minute.
Al-Qadsiya came back after two minutes with a goal thanks to young striker Bader Al-Motawwa who sent a curling shot from which passed to the right side of goalkeeper Al-Thwaini. Omani Mohammad Mubarak fired the third goal for Al-Qadsiya in the 69th minute granting his side a crucial triumph and stayed on course for an advanced place in the ranking.
The win gives Al-Qadsiya third place with 12 points.
