2007 model a revolutionary concept
KUWAIT CITY: "The Burst of Beauty & Technology" describes Toyota's newest Camry model which was unveiled to the public Tuesday in a special event held at the Hilton Resort Hotel in Mangaf. Mohammed Naser Al-Sayer Co. and Toyota hosted a press conference to launch and introduce the All New Camry 2007 which saw a large audience, among them individual and fleet customers who were specially invited the event, and members of the local media. Present during the conference were Al-Sayer Automotive Group CEO Mubarak Naser Al-Sayer with Akira Okabe, Senior Managing Director of Toyota Motors Corp. (TMC), Kenichiro Fuse, Chief Engineer of Toyota's Development Center 1 and Johan Ferdinand Heislitz, General Manager for Sales, Mohammed Naser Al-Sayer Co.
Also in attendance were: Hajime Sakaguchi, GM Middle East, TMC, Tsujimoto Kenji, Asst. GM, ME, TMC, Johan Bell, Chief Engineer, TMC Australia, and Andrew Willis, Regional Bahrain Office, TMC.
Al-Sayer CEO Mubarak Naser Al-Sayer in his opening speech said that the Camry 2007 features a unique combination of style and technology thus, the catchword "The Burst of Beauty & Technology," is part of Toyota's strategy to become the No. 1 automaker in the world pretty soon as predicted.
He also added that in the 30 years since Toyota launched the Camry in the GCC market, it has been consistently ranked as a leading brand in its class and considered the best family car of its kind anywhere.
Toyota Motor Corp Senior Managing Director Akira Okabe for his part, said that Camry's development into what it has become at present, is the result of strong resolve and determination, as well as the spirit of teamwork at Toyota.
TMC Chief Engineer Kenichiro Fuse on the other hand, said that the Camry 2007 has set a new standard and trend for saloon cars with its dynamic styling and state-of-the-art interior and safety equipments.
Al-Sayer GM for Sales Johan Heislitz, citing Camry's superior performance which saw it corner a 47 percent share of the medium size car market in Kuwait, said that it is but the natural result of the determination and firm resolve of Toyota and its innovative strategy and continuous research and development.
The All New Camry 2007 model presents a revolutionary concept in automotive design and performance, comfort and safety features on its dashboard including an all direction air flow to maximum compartment quite and comfort.
Among its advanced features is a new navigation system which includes a map of entire Kuwait, telescopic steering wheel, sound system controls and information screen, and more leg and headroom plus electronically controlled front seats and electronic sensors for reverse and parking.
Determined to establish Camry in a leading position over the competition, Toyota has developed luxury options like: smart door lock, better operation, optimum performance and unhindered vision; powerful and efficient air-conditioning, and features DSP, CD and MP3 in its sound system, the latter for live-sound enjoyment, and an antenna built into the rear windshield.
Its 2.4 liters, 4 cylinder, VVT-l based engine delivers smooth and efficient performance, fuel economy and minimum emissions; MacPherson Struts for front suspension, a dual-link strut system at the rear helps provide optimal balance for a smooth ride and secure handling; and to help improve the Camry's handling and drive feel, all lower control arms have been lengthened, all springs, shock absorbers and anti-roll bar values, as well as all suspension geometries, were rethought and recalibrated.
For added piece of mind, Toyota decided to create and new global standard for safety in the Camry class, through and informed, comprehensive approach for active safety to help the driver avoid accidents, and a passive safety to help minimize their impact.
Standard safety feature in the Camry 2007 is the ABS (Anti-lock Brake System), and to ensure vehicle stability on slippery roads, or sudden braking action, the EBD (Electronic Brake Force Distribution) complements the ABS system for optimum distribution of braking force for excellent braking performance.
Another standard feature is the SRS or Supplement Restraint System airbags which are activated by a strong frontal impact on collision; the inflation force appropriately controls response in relation to the severity of the impact.
All of Toyota's "GOA" (Global Outstanding Assessment) was developed on the basis of its own safety standards that exceed those of most countries around the world, providing Camry with top level safety performance in its class.
