Kuwat City - Chairman of the Public Fund and Commercial Affairs Prosecution AbdulMohsen Al-Tabtabaei was recently quoted as saying several crimes have been committed by hackers who managed to access the bank accounts of Internet users by stealing their passwords and their bank account numbers and transferred the money into their personal accounts, reports Al-Qabas daily.Al-Tabtabaei, however, did not give any details on the number of such crimes or whether anyone had been arrested in connection with these crimes."

The prosecution is also investigating several cases connected with the sale of share registrations, and misuse of civil ID cards without the authorization of their owners," he added. Indicating the prosecution is investigating 3,789 cases of suspected violations of state money, and 3,058 cases of financial and commercial violations, Al-Tabtabaei said "there is a noticeable increase in cases involving public funds violations because of the activation of monetary departments according to Article 2 of Public Funds Law 1993.

"On the sale of civil ID cards during the initial public offering of shares, Al-Tabtabaei said "this term doesn't exist in the language of law and there is no law against this phenomenon as long as the holder of the card authorises others to act on his behalf in the subscription."
