BEIRUT (Zawya Dow Jones)--State-owned Kuwait Oil Co., or KOC, said it's currently carrying out high-resolution, three-dimensional exploratory surveys in the Kuwaiti Jahra province in order to get an accurate and clear picture of the earth layers and reservoirs there, Kuwait-based An Nahar daily reports Monday.
The move is part of KOC's 2030 strategy and aims to identify the layers under the surface and produce a synthetic image of the Jurassic-age reservoir in the Rahiya field which is adjacent to Jahra city and which extends towards the north, the paper reports citing Ahmed Al Eidan, KOC's exploration group manager.
In addition to the Rahiya region, the current surveys cover Umm Ar Rus district and residential areas such as Saad Al Abdullah city, Jahra, Al Qasr, Naseem, Taima, Al Waha, and Al Oyoun, said Eidan in an interview with KOC's Kuwaiti Magazine, the daily reports.
