KUWAIT CITY, Dec 21: Municipal emergency team from the Hawalli Governorate has closed 16 stores in Hawalli and Salmiya for using unlicensed spaces and operating without the Municipality's approval, reports Al-Seyassah daily.
Sources reported that stores affected include cafes, call centers, restaurants, food companies, and clothing shops. The team led by Riyadh Al-Rahbi, conducted the operation in conjunction with the Public Relations Department at the Municipality and Hawalli Security Governorate.
Al-Rabhi disclosed that unlicensed spaces upon which violations have been issued range between 100 and 200 meters/square, pointing out the campaign will continue until such practices are discontinued.
Meanwhile, the Director General of Municipal Affairs Ahmad Al-Subaih urged store owners to abide by regulations on license spaces, as he warned the concerned authority will shut down all stores violating regulations.
