KUWAIT: The arrival of the summer holiday season has seen the annual sharp increase in the numbers of travelers coming to Kuwait International Airport (KIA) to complete their travel documents before departing on vacation.

As part of their efforts to maintain order and provide a smooth travel process for the large volume of passengers passing through KIA, officials from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and the Ministry of Interior (MoI) have been working flat-out to ensure that there are no obstacles impeding business there.

DGCA General Operations Manager Essam Al-Zamel told Al-Qabas that 82 flights have been added to the 120 daily flights leaving from the airport between June 23 and July 29 to cope with the increased passenger volume. The DGCA has also recruited extra staff to provide support to its personnel at the airport in regulating travelers' travel procedures.
