KUWAIT: Kuwait Finance House (KFH) concluded with Kuwait Airways Corporation (KAC) a contract for inaugurating the electronic payment system, to be applied for the first time in the corporation's history.

Under the contract, KFH is to provide KAC with e-payment portal, which provides travelling customers the ability to reserve tickets via KAC's website, then pay by credit card and charge card.

KAC was represented by Sheikh Talal Mubarak Adulla Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Chairman and Managing Director of KAC, and Isam Abdul Aziz Al-Lughani, project manager. KFH was represented by Mohammad Naser Al-Fozan, AGM banking sector, KFH, as well as Julio Lobo, manager bankcard department and his deputy Salem Al-Duwaisan.

About the agreement, Sheikh Talal Al-Sabah stated that the e-portal marks one of the major vital projects of KAC, under which the electronic ticket issuance plan will be completed. Beneficiaries of this service will be customers who make reservations via the electronic page of KAC's website, thus opening new horizons to shift from traditional sales to the world of e-commerce.

"The step will reflect on increased sales of KAC," he said adding "The reservation system of KAC will be linked with this portal, which will enable online collection of KAC funds, in or outside Kuwait, in case of using credit or charge card upon issuing the ticket."

Project Manager Isam Al-Lughani said that by operating the e-payment portal, KAC's customers will be able to purchase tickets using credit or charge card, 24 hours, simply by entering the website www.kuwaitairways.com." A comprehensive campaign for the service will be launched via electronic channels, points of sale and contact centres, as well as the reservation system at KAC," he mentioned.

Mohammad Naser Al-Fozan, AGM - Banking Sector of KFH, stated that the issuance of tickets via the Internet is increasing on the level of the region, and is expected to further increase in the next few years.

He commended the various services provided by KAC, which attract customers within and outside Kuwait.

"KFH continues to develop the various products and services of high quality to the different segments of customers, which are growing despite the competition in the local market," Al-Fozan added.

"KFH e-payment portal will add value to the companies, as it is safe for traders, using the credit card's PIN.

It will also allow fast debit to the account, and detailed settlements with easy recaps. In addition, it will enhance security, and remove claim risk using safe settlement system." He elaborated.

"KFH's e-payment system has been provided with latest global safety specifications, e-payment service for all major settlement actions, payment signs, card payment, with all channels and in the various currencies.

They are compatible with all payment and communication types requirements between them and the trader, using the latest data coding techniques.
