BEIRUT (Zawya Dow Jones)--Kuwait's minister of electricity and water said his ministry is preparing to launch five new local projects with a combined value of 90 million Kuwaiti dinars ($330.3 million), Kuwait-based Al Watan daily reports Tuesday.
The ventures include a project to install optical fibers at the main switching stations and setting up microwave towers at control centers as well as a telecommunication and control infrastructure at the ministry's sites, said Minister Salem Al Uthayna, who is also acting minister of communications and information, the paper reports.
The new projects will serve local power generation and water distillation plants across the country, the daily cites Uthayna as saying.
