Amman, March 7 (Petra)
Under the patronage of His Majesty King Abdullah II, the 2013 Jordan-U.S. Business Forum will start in Amman on Saturday with the participation of Jordanian and U.S. key private and public sector leaders.
The Forum aims to enhance bilateral partnerships, as well as explore and seize mutually beneficial business opportunities in Jordan and the region.
Over three days at the King Hussein Business Park, Jordanian and U.S. companies and business decision-makers will discuss and identify the potential opened by the Arab Spring in key sectors, as regional countries in transition seek to energize their economies.
Jordan, which against the backdrop of the Arab Spring repositioned itself as a regional haven of political and economic stability, seeks to leverage its reputation as a premium regional base for U.S. companies interested in tapping expanding markets in the Levant and wider MENA regions, offering a conducive regulatory framework, fresh incentives, and free access to 350 million consumers in the Middle East.
Building on the success of the first Jordan-U.S. Business Forum held in May 2011, this year's event, will feature both plenary and industry-specific sessions tailored to provide first-hand insights into the unique competitive advantages that Jordan offers to regional business.
Panel discussions led by regional and international experts will focus on crosscutting themes that are vital to regional expansion into fast-growing sectors such as Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and Business Process Outsourcing (BPO), Energy, Water and Environment, Manufacturing, Basic Industries and Related Services, Healthcare and Education, and Infrastructure.
After the first Forum provided fertile ground for sowing the seeds of cooperation through the signing of 11 agreements between businesses in a broad range of sectors, the 2013 Jordan-U.S. Business Forum will witness announcements and signings of deals and agreements projected to have significant economic impact.
