Amman - His Majesty King Abdullah II on Wednesday discussed with Egypt's shura council speaker, Ahmed Fahmi, Jordanian-Egyptian ties as well as the current situation in the region.
The King highlighted prospects of cooperation between the two countries, stressing the need to forge closer bilateral ties in various fields.
Speaker of the Egyptian shura council conveyed greetings of Egyptian President Mohammad Musri to His Majesty. He also expressed appreciation of the King's efforts to enhance democracy in Jordan.
Talks at the meeting, which was attended by Royal Court Chief Fayez Tarawneh, Director of the King's Office Imad Fakhoury and the Egyptian Ambassador to Jordan Khaled Tharwat, also dealt with the latest developments in Syria and means of supporting the Palestinians to regain their legitimate rights.
The Egyptian official said president Mursi is keen to maintain consultations and coordination with King Abdullah on various issues and challenges facing the Arab nation.
