DOHA: Siemens-Qatar and Al Khayarin Group (Trading & Contracting) - KG Group - has entered into a strategic collaboration arrangement under which Siemens declared KG Group as its authorised partner as well as distributor in Qatar for manufacturing Siemens Switchgear/Control Gear components and Bus Duct solution provider. This strategic cooperation will help in unlocking the huge potential available in the Qatari market specifically for switchgear equipment.

A formal signing ceremony was held on Monday at KG Group Head Office wherein Muhammad Idrees Anwar, Managing Director KG Group, and Wolfgang Muth, Chief Executive Officer Siemens-Qatar signed five separate Cooperation Agreements. The ceremony was attended by Paul Fairweather, Sales Director Siemens-Qatar; Shree Kumar, GM KG Switchgear; Salman bin Tayyab, Registered Sales Manager Siemens; Muhammad Tariq Hanif, Manager, KG Group besides other senior officials of the respective sides.

Under the proposed scope of cooperation, KG Group will act as Authorized Partner of Siemens for Bus Duct System and Low Voltage Panel Builder besides Authorized Distributor for S.D., ET-CP & ET-DB and CD-PD & CD-CC. This cooperation is a first step towards developing a long term arrangement between the two companies covering additional areas as well.

As part of the agreement, the two companies aim to deliver a solution in the field of assembly-cum-manufacturing of switchgear equipment in the State of Qatar which will go a long way in indigenising critical electrical products and develop a manufacturing base in Qatar. Siemens agreed to provide technical data and dimensions of the products whereas assembly-cum-manufacturing will be done at KG Switchgear Factory.

With the signing of these agreements, KG Switchgear is poised to become local Siemens Panel Builder by offering quality products at competitive price with prompt delivery commitments. Additionally, KG Switchgear would also build up sizeable stocks of Siemens components to cater to local switchgear assemblers and traders besides provide total solution to the contractors of switchgears and bus ducts. This joint venture would be mutually beneficial for both and would help Siemens in improving market share in Qatar market

Al Khayarin Group whose major stakes are involved in contacting business has endeavored to diversify its range of activities by offering services in various fields including interior decoration and fitouts, travels and tours, manufacturing of plastic products and trading of electrical products.
