AMMAN (Petra) -- Jordan seeks to export virgin olive oil to Austria, taking advantage of a growing awareness among people of the EU country of the health advantages of this commodity. Minister of Agriculture Mustafa Qrunfleh discussed the issue Tuesday with Austrian Ambassador to Jordan Franz Horlberder, as they met to discuss prospects of further cooperation in the agricultural field between both countries.
The minister pointed out that Jordan is already selling organic olive oil of various types to Japan and voiced hope that such a deal could be repeated with the Austrians. He also underlined the need to define the needs of the Austrian market.
