Doha -- Jordan and Qatar on Sunday signed an agreement to boost cooperation in municipal and urban planning domains.
Minister of Municipal Affairs Ali Al Ghzawi and Qatari Minister of Municipal and Urban Planning Sheikh Abdul Rahman bin Khalifa Al Thani told a joint press conference in Doha after they inked the deal that they would personally oversee implementation and ensure that the deal will be turned into action.
Ghzawi said that the agreement aimed to make optimal utilization of available resources in both countries and would give Jordan the prospect to take Qatar's expertise in city and urban planning as well as benefiting from each country's relevant laws and regulations.
Ghzawi also commended the level of progress in urban planning and a construction boom in Qatar, noting that the Gulf Arab state had gone a long way in building a modern infrastructure.
The Qatari minister said the agreement is another milestone in urban planning cooperation between the two countries, noting that it paves the way for the private sector to join such ventures.
