WASSIT - Japan's Mitsubishi said it is ready to provide the people and employees in the province of Wassit with cars on easy installments, according to the provincial council chief on Thursday.
"The offer will be falling within the framework of controls to be set between Mitsubishi and the General Automobile and Machinery Company (GAMCO)," Mahmoud Abdulreda told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
"The giant Japanese firms has requested the construction of a workshop for repair and maintenance in the province to provide the one-year after-sale warranty service," he said.
Wassit has embarked during July 2010 on distributing the first batch of vehicles on loans provided by al-Rafidain Bank over employees of government departments in the province through a five-year installment system.
Wassit lies 180 km southeast of the Iraqi capital Baghdad.
