BAGHDAD/ Aswat al-Iraq: Iraqi government announced readiness to make UN and Arab League envoy Al-Akhdhar al-Ibrahimi's mission to Syria a success, as stated by government spokesman Ali al-Dabbagh.
Ibrahimi replaced previous envoy Kofi Anan.
Spokesman Dabbagh added that Iraq will support his mission till the Syrian people gets full freedom and type of rule.
Anan submitted his resignation from his mission last week.
Many Syrian cities are under military escalation between the regular army and the Free Syrian supported by the opposition.
Iraq rejected Gulf countries' endeavors to supply the Syrian opposition with arms or any foreign intervention there.
Iraqi authorities took many precautionary measures along its borders with Syria to prevent the penetration of "terrorists" into Iraqi authorities and vice versa.© Aswat Aliraq 2012
