BAGHDAD, Aug. 27 (AKnews)

An informed source at the Iraqi Foreign Ministry said Sunday that an Iranian delegation headed by the adviser of Iranian President for Pilgrimage and Tourism Affairs Ahmed al-Moussawi arrived at Baghdad airport on Sunday afternoon.

Iranian national security adviser Saeed Jalili visited Iraq earlier in August as part of an official visit during which he held talks with Iraqi officials about the developments in the Syrian crisis.

The source, who asked not to be named, said that the Iraqi Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Liwaa Smeisim received the delegation at Baghdad International Airport.

"The delegation will hold a series of meetings with Iraqi officials related to organizing the entry of Iranian pilgrims to Iraq to visit religious shrines."

Iraqi authorities take only ten dollars from each visitor who enters the Iranian border for the purpose of religious tourism, while Iraqi transport and security companies transfer the visitors and protect them.
