Pakistani governor Islamabad, March 1, IRNA -- Governor of northern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Thursday said that Iran is a major stake holder in region and should be taken into confidence in solving regional issues.

Talking to IRNA, Barrister Syed Masood Kausar said that Iran, Pakistan and Afghanistan can solve their problems through cooperation.

"Today there is a realization in Afghanistan and Pakistan that our problems can be meaningfully resolved if we don't look outside and try to resolve our own problems," he said.

He went on to say whatever solutions are introduced in resolving regional issues the Iranian government should be taken into confidence.' "Iran is a major stake holder in region," he said.

Syed Masood Kausar added that very recently a meeting was held in Islamabad where Iran, Pakistan and Afghanistan discussed ways to enhance cooperation among the regional states.

"The recent meeting of the presidents of Pakistan, Iran and Afghanistan is a welcoming sign and it will bear fruits," said the governor.

He said that all the countries tried to find new approach towards the problems because 'we believe that regional countries are more important and we should come to some agreement to ensure bright future of this region.'

The governor expressing his views said 'our foreign minister gave very thought provoking statement by saying that Afghan people are sick of foreign interference and we want to give them the full opportunity to come up with a solution and we will support them.'

Syed Masood Kausar to a question said that Iran and Pakistan have always enjoyed strong relationship because of deep historic background. "We are neighbors and are trying to further improve our relations," he said.
