Chairman of National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Iran's Islamic Parliament said here Monday Iran and Pakistan share viewpoints on Palestinian cause and both countries strongly condemn Zionist regimes' atrocities on oppressed Palestinian nation.
Speaking with IRNA, Ala'eddin Boroujerdi said that soon a meeting of Iranian parliamentarians would be held to discuss ways to further boost Iran-Pakistan relationship in all sectors and in that meeting a representative from Pakistani Parliament would also be invited.
He said that time has come that both countries should take practical steps to enhance bilateral relationship.
To a question he said that Iran invited Afghan parliamentarians to discuss ways to bring stability in the war torn country.
He praised the role of Pakistan on finding a peaceful solution to the crisis in Syria.
Mushahid Hussain Syed, Chairman Senate Standing Committee on Defense & Defense Production responding to the question of IRNA said that there is tremendous potential for enhancing trade between Iran and Pakistan.
"Trade potential is very much there but it is not fully realized," he said.
"We are very happy to learn from our brother Ala'eddin Boroujerdi that from the Iranian side the Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline is complete and Iran is now offering Pakistan to facilitate the completion of the Pakistani side of the pipeline with their experts," he said.
To a question he said that Pakistan and Iran are brotherly neighbors with a strong history of close cooperation. "We have common viewpoint on world issues like Afghanistan, Iran's nuclear program, how Asia should be run by Asians themselves, and how we resist bullying by other powers," he added.
Boroujerdi in a joint press conference has said that during his meeting with the Pakistani senators the two sides discussed matters of mutual interests, including bilateral relations, regional and global affairs, and ways and means to bolster relations between the two countries.
Mushahid Hussain Syed, in reply to a question said that Iran is developing peaceful nuclear program and the pressure on Iran's nuclear program is not justified. He said that West is following policy of double standards against Iran.
He said that Pakistan would honor its commitment to complete Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline project on time. He said that the project is in the interest of the people of Pakistan and 'we would not accept any pressure on the project.'
He said that soon Iranian defence minister of Iran would visit Pakistan.
He said that Pakistani President, Asif Ali Zardari, will visit Iran this week for talks on bilateral and regional issues.
Ala'eddin Boroujerdi said that Iran and Pakistan should enhance their cooperation after exist of foreign forces from Afghanistan.
He said that Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline is highly important project and would bring stability in Pakistan.
The Iranian politician praised the role of Pakistan on finding a peaceful solution to the crisis in Syria.
He said that Iran believed in an Afghan-owned solution to the problem. He said trilateral cooperation among Pakistan, Iran and Afghanistan were imperative in establishing durable peace and stability in Afghanistan.
The visiting Iranian politician said that Iran would continue to provide aid to Hizballah and Hamas against the Zionist regime.
The Iranian Parliamentarian said that Iran is progressing in the varius fields of sciences and technologies and that the country last year successfully captured American stealth drone, which was a sign of Iran's competence over hi-tech digital field.
Mushahid Hussain Syed, said that people of Pakistan have very strong commitment with Palestine. He added that Palestinian cadets are being trained in Pakistan military academy. "Our position is very clear on Palestine," he said.
MP Ala'eddin Boroujerdi to another question said that Iran would continue to support the oppressed nation of Palestine against the atrocities of Zionist regime. He said that we cannot tolerate the silence of Arab countries on the issue of Palestine.
He said that Syria is being punished because it supports independent Palestinian state. "We are against the installation of NATO missile system in the region, he added.
He viewed that installation of such systems in the region has negative effects and will intensify problems in the region.
