Tehran - Iran Power Plant Projects Management Company (MAPNA) intends to have a stronger presence in energy market by getting involved in domestic projects, particularly, in those being staged by the Ministry of Energy and in oil and industries fields.
Moreover, offering after-sales services, entering further into energy industry trade market and increasing factories production capacities are part of the same signs of active presence in these sectors.
Shaterzadeh, the deputy market development affairs of the company, saying the above on Tuesday, added that MAPNA has the capacity of making turbines and generators with annual capacity of 3,500 MW and this is 10% of installed 38,000 MW carried by power stations all over the country.
He also stated that getting into long-term projects with major players in this field, establishing consortiums, moving toward exports and identifying the competitors are some of our goals to be fully realized.
He reminded that contract negotiations with companies like Ansaldo Energia of Italy and Siemens of Germany have so far been taking 8 months, of which, the latter is concluded and the former is still ongoing. Referring to total number of domestic and foreign projects on hand, MAPNA's deputy put them at 43 power plans at 15,000 MW, of which, 2 foreign ones and a 3000-MW domestic one would very likely become operational by yearend (March 20, 2005).
Zanjan 3 and 4, Tabas, Shirvan development plan, Khorramabad, Parsian and Jam gas refineries, Hamedan, Isfahan, Kashan, Fajr 2, South Pars (SP) at 1,000 MW, phases 15 and 16 of SP, Assaluyeh, Aliabad and Mobarakeh and Khuzestan steel complexes power plants projects are being negotiated at the moment, he concluded.
