Minister of Roads and Urban Development Abbas Akhondi on Thursday held talks with French Minister of Territorial Equality and Housing Sylvia Pinel on cooperation in the field of urban development.

Akhondi invited French professional teams to pay a visit to Iran to explore the grounds for cooperation in the field of transport and urban development.

He said that the French executives are expected to come to Iran within coming two months to exchange of views with Iranian partners.

Iran has prepared a comprehensive plan on housing, decentralization, mass building construction, urban development and public transport and welcomes exchange of views and experience with foreign executives in the field, he said.

French Minister of Territorial Equality and Housing Sylvia Pinel expressed satisfaction over the visit of the Iranian counterpart and briefed Akhondi on social development programs and welfare in France.

France is ready to transfer its experience to Iran, she said adding that France will forward three working groups to visit Iran to study ways for cooperation.

Akhondi and his accompanying delegation held negotiations with major French companies including aviation, subway and buss industry and got acquainted with the traffic control system.

Akondi also conferred with French Secretary of State for Transport, Marine Affairs and Fisheries Alain Vidalies on expansion of cooperation between the two countries.

Outlining his program for the visit, Akhondi said he would attend air show and world aviation industry fair and visit major French companies operating in construction and renovation of roads and railway.
